Time to go Peppol

It’s time for your software to go Peppol!

As you know, since its creation, Digiteal is a strong believer in European standards in the fields of invoicing, payment and bank movements. That is why we are part of the Belgian “e-Invoicing Business Expert Group” of the FEB/VBO.

We wanted to share with you some important information: the Belgian Federal Government announced the obligation to send electronic invoices (Peppol, not PDFs by email) to all public authorities. The decision was taken by the ministers on November 26, 2021. The announcement was made on March 31st 2022, the same day the law was published in the Belgian Official Journal.

What does it mean?

1 All public tenders in Belgium will force suppliers to send their invoices electronically.

This B2G obligation will be gradually enforced:

European call for tenders: 01/10/2022
Non-European call for tenders: 01/04/2023
Call for tenders for less than 30.000€ excl VAT: 01/10/2023

Such an obligation was already in place in Luxembourg since the beginning of the year which led to a lot more Peppol related activity.

2 The Federal Government also wants to impose e-invoicing for B2B. The timing is not final for this but there is a proposition on the table.

In order to inform the companies wishing to send/receive Peppol invoices, BOSA will compile the list of software solutions that support this. They will certainly provide the details of this certification on their website. We will already mention to BOSA the integrations that are live today with Digiteal as Peppol Access Point.
